Well as I feel now, and many other people felt a long time ago before Naruto, bleach, and One Piece started.
I feel that all the nice Shonen ideas have been taken, yeah sure all shonens will have a similar story, but it feels that if these recent Big 4(Naruto,Bleach,One Piece,and DGM) end there won't be a lot of originality.... Fairy Tail and Psyren seem to have developed nice ideas and have alot of potencial...

I really doubt it will ever come to an end, since there will always be a huge demand for it. Shonen jump magazines are a huge cash cow and people everywhere buy their manga, I think that all the more reason for the creators to think of new ideas.

There are always neat, new ideas out there, especially for Shounen, but I also agree with pitylessenvy on how it's such a big market, and that people can earn huge amounts of money from it.

Yeah I still can't believe they'd cancel a manga like Mx0...
On the subject of magical shonen; I heard somewhere that they were thinking about doing a manga based on the adventures of Harry Potter after Book 7. Hopefully that isn't true because I don't think HP would make a good manga...

Lol, it would, it depends on who the mangaka though. If it was someone like Kishimoto, then it probably wouldn't be that good.
Honestly, I think a shoujo mangaka would be the best person to draw it.

Ya Harry Potter seems kind of like a shoujo manga....
But back to topic, are samurai's and swordsman's old unoriginal ideas, or maybe depends on the way you use them?

What about a anime/manga based off like ancient events. Ex. Troy, Atlantis, Egypt (without the Duel Monster cards mind you..)
